Celebrating 50 Years of Galapagos Conservation
In celebration of 50 years of conservation efforts of the Charles Darwin Research Station and Galapagos National Park, Galapagos Conservancy members have responded overwhelmingly to a special anniversary appeal aiming to continue the preservation of Galapagos for generations to come.

Pictured are CDRS Executive Director Gabriel Lopez and GC President Johannah Barry in front of the 50th Anniversary Banner at the Charles Darwin Research Station.
Approximately 275 GC members—those who have increased their level of support—have made a name for themselves in Galapagos and now have their names inscribed on a banner that stands at the Charles Darwin Research Station as a testament to the international fellowship of individuals and institutions who come together to save this extraordinary place.
Galapagos Conservancy extends our sincere thanks to ALL of our members who support our work throughout the entire year!

Thank you to GC’s “Patrones de Floreana“
Many Galapagos Conservancy members have recently responded enthusiastically to a call to action to restore the flora and fauna of Floreana Island. As a result of their generous financial support, these members have been named “Patrons of Floreana” (Patrones de Floreana) for their initial support of this multi-institutional effort.
Floreana island, home to only 120 residents, is the oldest inhabited island in the archipelago and has significant degradation of native plants, animals, and ecosystems. Through an island-wide restoration effort called “Project Floreana,” scientists at the Charles Darwin Foundation, Galapagos National Park staff, and local residents are banding together to halt the spread of introduced species and begin the long and important battle to restore much of the island’s native systems.
